WTF of the Day...

The American Family Association is claiming that it's protests against video rental chain Movie Gallery have lead to the company shutting down...

American Family Association has worked for years to close down Movie Gallery shops, pointing out to consumers and law-enforcement authorities the company's practice of distributing hardcore pornography out of stores' "back rooms." Randy Sharp is director of special projects for AFA.

Two things....

1) There are still video rental stores?

2) The Internet (where the American Family Association posted their press release) is one giant unattended "back room". Get over yourselves.

Movie Gallery purchased Hollywood Video (an Oregon company) that already was approaching bankruptcy ramming speed. Along with Netflix, RedBox and internet sites (Hulu etc) bricks & mortar rental stores were well on their way to the retail graveyard. AFA needs to be sure they don't dislocate a shoulder patting themselves on the back.

When Playboy, Penthouse, and Hustler finally go out of business--if they haven't already--they'll take credit for that, too.
