Interracial couple denied marriage license in LA.

What year is this again?

What country am I living in?

Ugly stuff indeed. Funny how the same religious backwards folks who fought interracial marriage for YEARS are the same folks fighting gay marriage now. Using the same book, the same hatred, and the same superstitious thinking.

Fuck em.

Interracial couple denied marriage license in La.

"I'm not a racist. I just don't believe in mixing the races that way," Bardwell told the Associated Press on Thursday. "I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else."

Bardwell said he asks everyone who calls about marriage if they are a mixed race couple. If they are, he does not marry them, he said.

Bardwell said he has discussed the topic with blacks and whites, along with witnessing some interracial marriages. He came to the conclusion that most of black society does not readily accept offspring of such relationships, and neither does white society, he said.

"There is a problem with both groups accepting a child from such a marriage," Bardwell said. "I think those children suffer and I won't help put them through it."

If he did an interracial marriage for one couple, he must do the same for all, he said.

"I try to treat everyone equally," he said.

Wait a second did, he use the "black people use my bathroom" defense!?!?! This man's a genius! Quick get him a political class, Palin-Bardwell 2012!

A genuine American hero... if you enjoy wearing white robes.

They all wear the same robes and white hats in the dark.

Ridicious by any standard, but he did stumble upon a truth by accident, as fools are prone to do....

"that most of black society does not readily accept offspring of such relationships"

That's true. Remember the cries of "not black enough" from parts of the black community whenever a black is appointed to/campaigning for a prominent position?

My black friends have enough common sense to take a shit before they leave home.:)

A lot of racists love to mention that they are not racists.

I didn't read the article (sorry) but while I am opposed to gay "marriages", I would never fight against interracial ones. I am also, as you Lemmie well know, not a racist. My question is, am I also the recipient of your choice explicative, or do you have a milder one reserved for me? ;-)

I don't know. The fact that you would deny someone rights that you enjoy is sad and disturbing to say the least.

The article left out his quote that he also shares the same water fountain with black people, too.
