Bible quote of the week...

Luke 14:26

If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.

The word miseo, "hate" is not always as strong as, and has a wider meaning than, the English word for "hate".

Also, you need to read more of the Bible to understand this passage in context. Jesus did not command us to hate our family. He was just saying that He should be our priority, even if that leads to a family conflict.

Did you miss me?

Ahhh....the old "it doesn't mean what it says" argument.

The bible doesn't MEAN to be misogynistic, racist, sexist, and homophobic.....you just have to know what it means when it says those things.

That might actually work for most people because, well they have never bothered to read the thing.

Missed you? It's like you never left.

Nooo...it's the old "the Bible wasn't written in English and language translations don't line up exactly, come on where did you get your college degree out of cracker jack box?" argument.

:)
