Deuteronomy 22:28-29 (KJV)
If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

Seems to me the key passage there is "and they be found" -- if no one finds out, I guess he's scot-free. Figures.
How many wives could you have back then?
Have you seen the West Wing bit where Bartlet quotes absurd Bible verses to the conservative Dr. Laura type woman? Brilliant.
Where'd you find the billboard? Is that a real one, or did you use a generator? Cool.
Not sure how many wives was acceptable. The god of the bible seemed to have NO problems whatsoever with polygamy.
I've never see the West Wing...but would love to see that clip. Maybe I can find it on youtube.
The billboard has been floating around the web with no real description. I'm guessing it's a photoshop. Damn funny one at that.
he hath HUMBLED her? HUMBLED?
Interesting choice of words, eh Rose? Remember....it was written by the invisible sky king that knows all. Not by men. Nope.
