400 pages of nonsense

Palin finishes memoir, 'Going Rogue,' out Nov. 17

NEW YORK — Sarah Palin (PAY'-lin) has finished her memoir just four months after the book deal was announced. Her publisher says the release date has been moved up from the spring to Nov. 17.

Harper publisher Jonathan Burnham says the former Alaska governor invested herself deeply and passionately in the project. He says the book contains fascinating detail.

The 400-page book is the first for Palin, who has been an object of fascination since Republican Sen. John McCain chose her as his running mate during his 2008 presidential bid. The book will be called "Going Rogue: An American Life."

So she wrote a 400 page book in four months?? Yeah. Gotcha.

Anyone that has seen this woman give any kind of speech knows that she couldn't write a grocery list in four months. She can barely put together a coherent sentence, let alone compose a 400 page memoir.

Bush Officials Objected To Awarding Medal To J.K. Rowling Because Harry Potter Books Promote Witchcraft

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the nation’s highest civil award, and is given to individuals who have contributed to: 1) the security or national interests of the United States, 2) world peace, or 3) cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

In his new book, Speechless: Tales of a White House Survivor, former Bush speechwriter Matt Latimer reveals how politicized the revered Presidential Medal of Freedom became during the Bush administration.

Latimer writes that administration officials objected to giving author J.K. Rowling the Presidential Medal of Freedom because her writing “encouraged witchcraft” (p. 201):
This was the same sort of narrow thinking that led people in the White House to actually object to giving the author J.K. Rowling a presidential medal because the Harry Potter books encouraged withcraft.

Bible passage of the week....

Deuteronomy 22:13-21

If a man takes a wife and, after lying with her, dislikes her and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, "I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity," then the girl's father and mother shall bring proof that she was a virgin to the town elders at the gate. The girl's father will say to the elders, "I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. Now he has slandered her and said, 'I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.' But here is the proof of my daughter's virginity." Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town, and the elders shall take the man and punish him. They shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the girl's father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives.

If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl's virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father's house. You must purge the evil from among you.

Stoning CAN be funny though....

I know this has been making the rounds for a while now.....but I just got around to watching it.....and WOW.

The Bible finally does some good...

Police: Boy used Bible page for joint

SANDUSKY, Ohio, Sept. 21 (UPI) --Authorities in Ohio said a 16-year-old arrested for drug possession allegedly used a page torn from his Bible as a marijuana cigarette rolling paper.

The Erie County sheriff deputy's report said the teenager's mother called authorities at about 11:35 p.m. Tuesday and asked deputies to meet her at a car wash on Ohio 101 in Margaretta Township, the Sandusky (Ohio) Register reported Monday.

The mother told deputies she had seen her son smoking in his room and discovered a small bag of marijuana in his nightstand.

The report said the woman told deputies the boy "was smoking a marijuana cigarette using a page from his Bible."

Deputies confiscated the marijuana and the boy was arrested and charged with drug possession.

Sad news

I don't remember where I stole this from. It may have been from here, but it could have been here. I'm sure they stole it too, so it all comes out in the wash.

Pure entertainment

I think I could have some fun with one of these....

The Benedictaphone !

Voice recorder “Hold and say, press and play, the holy way!”A charming likeness of the big man himself that helps you to remember things. Compact dictaphone attaches to your keyring and throws in his own holy bits at the beginning and end of every recording, adding a little divine inspiration to every day!

Think of all the fun things you could have the creepy old coot say......

"The power of the dark side compels you Luke"

"Aufmerksamkeit! Keine Juden erlaubt!"

"Sorry about all that kid fuckin"

"This dress is too tight"

"Every sperm is sacred!"

Maine Catholics Collect Money at Mass for Discrimination.

Why did the Catholic church never take up special collections to help pay for the victims of rape at the hands of those entrusted to protect? Guess that doesn't pull at their hearts the way some good old fashioned gay-hatin' does. Sickening.

Protecting the sanctity of marriage....

This is The Best.

In Sacramento, John Marcotte is working hard to get a voter's initiative on the 2010 ballot in California. He wants to help protect the sanctity of heterosexual marriage.

The initiative is to outlaw divorce. Fantastic. I love it.

The continued cries of Xians everywhere about how homosexuals getting married is an attack on family values and the "traditional sanctity" of marriage can be taken to its logical conclusion. What is a bigger threat to these things than divorce?

Bravo John. Well played sir.
