“Rosa Parks did not move to the front of the bus to support sodomy. There is no difference between a black person and a white person other than their skin color when there’s a tremendous difference between a man and a woman. Allowing a black woman and a white man to marry does not change the definition of marriage. However, allowing two men or two women to marry would fundamentally change that definition." - GOP candidate for Congress Barb Davis White

Somebody should remind her that "changing the definition" of something isn't a BAD THING. I'm pretty sure that "all men were created equal" had it's definition changed from the time it was written. What a dope.

The Founding Fathers didn't all agree about what "all men were created equal" meant, because they didn't all agree what "man"meant. Some thought blacks were not fully human, but others did, and it was a while until the whole country would be convinced on this point. (Mostly convinced--we still have those KKKer's, don't we?)

Still, all MEN--meaning men, women, and children of all ages, races, creeds, etc.--ARE created equal. It doesn't matter if the majority of the population forgets this fact and joins the KKK and decides to create legislation that segregates schools and buses again. Blacks will always be equal in dignity and worth with whites, don't you agree?

No, you don't. Because you don't believe all men were created. You think that people get their rights from other people, and that rights change depending on who is in charge. This is at the root of your inconsistency of thought. You can't have it both ways--you can't insist that all men are equal OBJECTIVELY while at the same time insisting there is no such thing as objectivity.

:-)

Also, I'm changing the definition of "butt freaking ugly" to mean "beautiful woman".

Yes, I do.

I just don't believe that a fairy sky king did the creating. It was actually my horned up parents that did that. Probably in the back seat of some beat up vehicle my dad was crusing in at the time. Good show dad!

Only because it's true.

.

Where did I do that?

Look, not EVERYONE starts off life on equal footing. Sure "all men are created equal" sounds nice and has that spiritual flair that I'm sure tickles you.....but it just ain't so.

Amazing.... Totally ignoring that racial segregation is only based on "definitions" as well, namley defining whites to be superior to blacks and that a "definition" is nothing more than label arbitrarily put on something by the people judging it. (But of course I assume all the definitions she believes in are God-given, while all the definitions she rejects are man-made)

If you are against gay marriage, don't marry a gay. If you are against abortions, don't have one. That is the way it should be, but no, a small subset of the population thinks it has the right philosophy and keeps demanding that the rest of us follow their narrow-minded way.

What if you're against abortions, but your mother wants to abort YOU, hmmm?

Lemmy, gotta be a bus, I'll answer you later...

Have you been hitting the sacramental wine at lunch again?

Not only does your question leave me thinking...."HUH?".....but you asked it twice.

"The right to the pursuit of happiness means man's right to live for himself, to choose what constitutes his own private, personal, individual happiness and to work for its achievement, so long as he respects the same right in others. it means that man cannot be forced to devote his life to the happiness of another man nor of any number of other men. It means that the collective cannot decide what is to be the purpose of a man's existence nor prescribe his choice of happiness." - Ayn Rand

Any group, any gang, any nation that attempts to negate man's rights is wrong, which means evil, which means: anti-life - Ayn Rand

Lemmy, I hope you don't mind, but this little debate in the comment section has given me an idea for an upcoming post.

that statement is pure collectivist drivel. no i dont agree that ALL whites or ALL blacks or ALL of ANY kind of ethnic type has either worth or dignity. i choose to take it on a case by case basis.

the phrase "all men are created equal" refers to ONE thing and that is that we are ALL born with the same inalienable rights. Goverments and other men dont grant rights, they can only take them away. gays are being prohibited from exercising their right to pursue their own happiness through marriage by force, force of goverments who declared it against the law to do so.

to say it changes the definition of marriage is freakin ridiculous! how does a gay couple getting married have ANY effect on the marriage of a non-gay couple or change it in ANY way??? someone please explain this to me!

What if I form an opinion on something BEFORE I actually exist? Or am I forming the opinion so that I CAN exist, but I don't so why should I get a vote????
My head hurts - I am going to take some birth control and watch gay porn... I just hope those bastards make and honest man out of each other at the end, otherwise it is a sin :)

Also, I am pretty sure that if you had a vagina the founding fathers weren't that concerned about your equality.

Does this mean that now not only does life begin at conception, but is also capable of thought at the same time??? Whatever you are smoking, send me some as that is some powerful stuff.
