Catholics believe faith and reason are inseparable.

They also apparantly believe condoms do not help to stop the spread of AIDS.

Or that the best way to deal with a pedophile priest is to move him to a new parrish and not tell anyone.

Not trying to be too mean here, but reason and religion are polar opposites. Any demonination can SAY that they BELIEVE that they are inseperable, but by definition, they are not.

Moving pedophile priests is flat out wrong and always a serious mistake, but you are confusing this grave error of judgement with church doctrine. There is nothing in Catholic church teaching that says it is OK to hide the sins of priests and to endanger the welfare of children.

You might be surprised to read what the Pope has to say about the relationship between faith and reason.

The doctrine can say whatever it wants to. The actions spoke much louder than the words.

I've read enough of what the Pope has said recently to have a firm grasp on his sense of 'reason'. Oof!
